What is teleradiology and how does TrueRad's service work?

Teleradiology is the secure electronic transmission of imaging studies — CT, MRI, X-ray and more — to radiologists for interpretation from another location. Your facility captures and sends the DICOM study through our encrypted platform, one of our radiologists reviews and reports it, and the finalized report is delivered back to your referring physician, typically within your agreed turnaround window.

Are your radiologists licensed to report for my facility?

Yes. Every radiologist in our network is qualified and appropriately licensed for the jurisdictions they report in, and we match studies to radiologists credentialed for your specific state or country before onboarding begins.

What turnaround times can we expect?

Turnaround depends on study priority. Emergency and STAT studies are prioritized for the fastest possible read, urgent studies follow a defined SLA window, and routine studies are scheduled to keep your queue moving predictably. Exact SLAs are agreed upfront as part of your service plan.

How is patient data kept secure and confidential?

Studies move through encrypted, access-controlled channels with full audit trails at every step. Our infrastructure is built around PACS, RIS and DICOM standards, and every member of our team operates under strict confidentiality obligations.

Can TrueRad integrate with our existing PACS or RIS?

In most cases, yes. Our technology team works directly with your IT staff to establish a secure connection to your current PACS/RIS setup, so there's no need to change the systems your team already knows.

Do you cover subspecialty reads, or just general reporting?

Both. Alongside general preliminary and final reporting, we route complex studies to radiologists with focused subspecialty expertise — including neuroradiology, musculoskeletal, breast imaging, pediatric, cardiothoracic, body imaging and more.

How long does onboarding take?
